A message from the Lodge Adviser –

My Brothers,

Another outstanding Occoneechee Lodge event is over and the numbers and the memories are still going in the books. Just 4 weeks ago, we were doubting the attendance numbers, but as the event gained momentum in the last weeks/days (and hours) the Occoneechee Council heard about the tremendous program being planned and it seemed everyone wanted to be a part of it.

Not only did you take on this challenge in true Occoneechee style , but you exceeded everyone’s expectations in customer service, logistical support, but most of all, program. This was due largely to your individual efforts as members of the Camporee Staff, but would not have been possible without the vision and leadership of Kenny Ferrari, T om Wells and Seth Asbill .

On Saturday morning, I met briefly with Mr. Akerman, Council Scout Executive and Mr. Rogers, Council President and both of them were overwhelmed with the entire event and how smoothly things were going for something as complex, but so well orchestrated and delivered. Not only did you deliver an exceptional program on Saturday morning, but we followed through with our commitment for a muddy afternoon as well. It should make you proud to know that their positive comments were among the many that I received from everyone I spoke with during the weekend.

Congratulations and thank you again for your dedication and service to the Occoneechee Council.

A message from our Camporee Chief –

Dear Camporee Staff,

As you know the Occoneechee Council Camporee was a huge success, and we have once again raised the bar for this well-known camping trip. The plethora of activities at Dawn Breakers allowed for Scouts of all ages to thoroughly enjoy the Camporee and the Challenge Trail offered a sufficient challenge for all age groups without compromising on fun! As Camporee Chief, I was very pleased with the outcome of the event, but not enough can be said about the outstanding job you all accomplished while working as Camporee staff. I would like to thank you all for your dedication to the Lodge by sacrificing a lot of your time to events like the Challenge Trail. Your commitment has not gone unnoticed and your support has changed the perspective of many Scouts and Scouters. No matter what committee you were a part of, everyone pitched in and played an integral role in the outcome of the Camporee.

Yours in Scouting,

Kenny Ferrari
