Arrowmen and Brothers,
I hope this message finds all of you rested, reasonably dry, and safely returned from Conclave.
Here are the results of our incredible efforts this weekend:
- Quest for the Golden Arrow Champions, for the third year in a row! Many thanks to our team of leapfroggers, doughnut dine-and-dashers, tuggers-of-war, tent crew experts, and cheermasters.
- Pre-Ordeal Ceremony 1st Place. The Pre-Ordeal Ceremony team swept their competition, placing first in all four individual categories as well as in the team category.
- Thanks to David Helbig, Fabian James, Ethan Porter, and Scott Gilmore for representing the best of the Occoneechee ceremonies tradition!
- And last but certainly not least, for the first time since 2006, Occoneechee’s Team USA brought home the SPIRIT AWARD! America always wins.
In dancing:
- David Lynn won the Junior Fancy Dance competition
- Dylan Taylor won Senior Grass Dance
- Kevin Pusak took second place in Senior Straight Dance
- Brenton Cameron finished third place in Junior Grass Dance
- Andrew Bain finished third place in Junior Straight dance
Congratulations to Brenton, Kevin, Dylan, and David on your victories, and thanks to all of our dancers for representing our Lodge and continuing our robust tradition of AIA excellence.
In singing, the Occoneechee Lodge Drum Team took second place in team singing! Congratulations to all of our singers on this tremendous accomplishment. Arrowmen: if you’d like to become a part of the best drum team in the Section, please contact Mr. Bill Morris, bmorris3@nc.rr.com.
In lieu of Sunday’s show, we shall celebrate these awards and recognize all of our AIA and Quest competitors at Spring Inductions next month; mark your calendars for May 18-20th at Camp Durant.
To all of our Conclave delegates: you did Lodge 104 proud this weekend. I am honored and humbled to lead such a spirited, generous, and noisy group of people. Once again you’ve reminded me, my fellow officers, and all of our brothers in Section SR-7B why WE’RE NUMBER ONE…OH FOUR!
In Cheerful Service,
Will Allen
