Fire in Rain

Written by Owen Clapp

The Fire of Cheerfulness did not die down one bit from Conclave. Spring Inductions was an event full of excitement and energy amidst a weekend of cheerful service. There were many ways to serve during the weekend: service projects, Elangomats, ceremonies, etc. Thunderbirds from around central North Carolina came to Camp Durant for a great weekend together. Friday night we all came together, new brothers beginning their ordeal under wet rain drops. The great work of the Ordeal committee got the candidates through their experience regardless of the inclement weather.
The warmth of brotherhood melted away the cold rain as the weekend drew on. Saturday brought more service opportunities, ceremonies evaluations, singing and dancing at the Armstrong Shelter, Thunderfest, patch trading, the Ordeal ceremony and the excited faces of many Arrowmen!
Following a great day, Sunday brought on the Scout’s Own Service with a focus on mental awareness, and finally a productive Executive Committee meeting. What a great weekend!
