The Centennial Year is now coming to a close and what an amazing year it has been. There have been numerous celebrations across the nation including NOAC and Arrowtour. We have learned a lot from things in the past, but it is now time to look into the future. 2016 is the first year in the next 100 years of our Order.
As we move into the next year, it is important that we all look into the past to learn from it. The order’s roots come from Brotherhood, Cheerfulness, and Service. This is what we as a lodge need to look at. Hundreds of service hours are completed every year by members of our lodge, but it is time to look outside of our comfort zone and look to be in service to those in our community as well.
Service can be big or small, but it is something that we all need to do in our daily lives. Bringing us back to the roots of scouting as a whole to the slogan, “Do a Good Turn Daily.” Be Cheerful, Serve, and show the bonds of brotherhood.
