Have an interest in singing, dancing, ceremonies, or Native American craft? Did you have fun at or miss Indian Summer in 2011? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Wachipi is a great opportunity for you this summer. The event’s name translates “to dance” in the Lakota language. As you might expect, this national seminar teaches various dancing skills and helps attendees develop their interests, may it be in the form of a new outfit or learning a new song. The event will be held June 6th-10th at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. Whether you are a newly inducted member who was impressed by those performing ceremonies at your induction or you are a seasoned veteran in American Indian Affairs, this event is an excellent way to further develop your passion.
