What is Gentgeen 101?
Are you looking for a way to be active in Occoneechee Lodge? Are you interested in the Native American culture? Are you interested in learning about singing and dancing, and want to make an outfit? This is your chance! The American Indian Affairs Committee is holding a Gentgeen 101 class! A new addition to this event is several ceremony classes will also be taught.
Prior to this event, you will need to work on designing your basic outfit on paper and work with an experienced Lodge dancer. Please RSVP with Past Lodge Chief and recognized Dancer Jeff Brewer at jdbrewer104@gmail.com.
On Saturday, you will work all day at the Sullivan Center to construct your outfit. Experienced instructors and dancers will be on site to help you construct and teach you the “tricks of the trade”! Do not miss out on this wonderful opportunity to learn from the best AIA instructors around! Please email Jeff Brewer with any questions about this brand new event. Camping is available on Friday night of that weekend.
