As we close out the 2015 calendar year, we have the opportunity to reflect on the outstanding accomplishments by the Occoneechee Lodge under the leadership of our outgoing officers . Over 500 new members were inducted into our Order, 207 members converted to Brotherhood membership and 24 members received the Vigil Honor.
With the overwhelming power of Occoneechee Lodge, we brought home the Section Spirit Award and Quest Competition from Conclave in April and under the leadership of Drew Bain, (advised by Al Bain) we took a record number of contingent members to the 100th Anniversary NOAC celebration in Michigan for a week of intense learning and fellowship. We will recharter our lodge for 2016 with a new high membership total of over 1900 members, showing our resolve to keep our program interesting and relevant.
We provided the Occoneechee Council and Camp Durant with the support necessary to improve the camp facilities by replacing air conditioners, upgrading the camp internet, helping to build cabins and improving campsites with new ramps for the shelters.
Looking into 2016, our opportunities for success are limited only by our desire to achieve. We have the right people, in the right places, with the right skills to have a wonderful year. I look forward to working with all of our new officers and advisers and creating an opportunity for every Arrowman to become more involved in our Lodge.
Yours in Cheerful Service,
Kevin Blackwood, Adviser
